About half way between Vancouver and Calgary, and just off of Highway 1, is the city of Revelstoke, dam of Revelstoke, and ski resort of Revelstoke. They like the name Revelstoke in Revelstoke, and apparently some of them like skiing and snowboarding as well. This big mountain rarely disappoints, unless of course you trash your gear on some early season rocks. The upper parts of the mountain are gnarly, with steep chutes everywhere off the top ridges that throw you out into wide open bowls.
