Kimberley Resort

This mountain about an hour out of Calgary is one of the best little big mountains around, and in my mind the closest legitimate mountain to Calgary. The most westerly of the North Shore mountains, Cypress mountain is the biggest little mountain in Vancouver. Up here you will have more vertical, more lifts and more runs than any of the other North Shore mountains. This big mountain rarely disappoints, unless of course you trash your gear on some early season rocks. The upper parts of the mountain are gnarly, with steep chutes everywhere off the top ridges that throw you out into wide open bowls.
