Campy builds the Iridio with moisture wicking materials and strategic ventilation panels in a race-ready fit so you're riding in more comfort at tempo when the temperatures start tickling 3-digit figures. Sports scientist have known for quite a while that keeping the core cooler is important from a performance and safety standpoint. That's why you'll often see cyclist sporting ice vests before the start of a warm event or even soigneurs handing out stockings full of ice that riders will put under their jerseys during racing. While these techniques aren't practical on most rides, having the Iridio jersey on is, as it features lightweight and breathable materials at the sleeve and side panels to easily exhaust excessive body heat. The sleeves are also slightly longer so you won't have to slather on as much sunscreen and the openings are finished with a lycra hem to gently keep them in place without excessive binding or squeezing. On the front and back panels, a slightly denser yet still breathable fabric helps maintain the race fit and better shields you from the sun's rays. If hill repeats or extended climbing is on the docket, you'll quickly appreciate the full-length YKK Camlock zipper with Campagnolo shield pull-tab that allows you to dump excess body heat on the climbs and lets fresh air in. When zipped all the way up or down, the pull is housed at either end in a garage that keeps it from irritating you as you pedal and allows for a smoother passage of air.
