With a minimalist design, the Skarab 18 is great for light and fast day hikes, mountain biking, and around town wear, while the addition of a foam framesheet with center stiffener makes the Skarab capable of comfortable carrying up to twenty-five pounds. The main compartment is easily accessed through the front zippered panel, and the stretch side pockets are great for stashing water bottles--although, the included 2. 5-liter hydration reservoir is typically capable of carrying all the water you'll need for a full day in the mountains. Osprey kept the look and design of the Skarab streamlined, with just two side compression straps and a front bungee cord that can be used to secure everything from light layers to trekking poles.
