Named after the airport code for Boston, the Donnelly BOS Tubeless Tire is designed for the greasy, mud-caked conditions, deep ruts, and slippery roots inherent to East Coast cyclocross racing. This version of the BOS can be run with or without tubes, giving cyclocross racers greater versatility in their setup and extra protection from race-stopping flats in tubeless form. And speaking of flats, it's reinforced with an Aramid bead, so you can ride and race knowing full well you're protected from small punctures and tears that would damage other tires. Its tread pattern makes use of buttressed side-knobs that grip tenaciously on muddy corners that wold wash out less-aggressive tires, plus a center tread pattern that bites down onto slippery surfaces when you're sprinting out of the saddle. The softer rubber compound makes the best use of the tire's tubeless design, allowing you to gain higher levels of confidence and control, as well as greater compliance over the bumps, roots, and ruts inherent to cyclocross racing in nasty weather. Please note, Donnelly Tires were formerly known as Clement, but have changed their name due to a licensing agreement. If you've been running Clement Tires on your bike for years, rest assured that Donnelly has retained the exact design, rubber compounds, and tread patterns for those tires of the same name.
