Enduro races are our new normal on the Devinci Spartan GX Eagle Moutain Bike. Made for fast and loose riding the high-pivot-equipped Spartan allows for uninterrupted suspension movement while we're smashing the downhills. Devinci designed the Spartan to be a one-stop-shop when it comes to downhill riding, and we can't wait to get a leg over for the weekend's next enduro event. This Spartan is ready for battle whether its deep in the desert or cruising through loam in the pacific north west. With a frame designed in the Canadian Rockies, the Spartan is built for hard-charging on steep and loose terrain. The bike gets a slacked-out 64. 5-degree headtube angle in the low setting paired with big 29in wheels. Big wheels and slack angles only mean one thing, high speed descending. The bike gets an even more progressive 1261mm wheelbase on a size large frame, delivering maximum stability often seen with pure downhill bikes. The idler pulley works its magic when it comes to descending by nearly eliminating chain stretch and pedal kickback. This allows us to flow through the descents without needing to be scared about the next big compression coming our way. Mated to split-pivot suspension the new Fox Float X2 provides progressive squish while the suspension layup delivers a bottomless feel. Split-pivot is highly active tech, meaning that those fast, loose, and chunky sections of trail get soaked up without a second thought. Outfitted with the wide range SRAM GX Eagle groupset this bike is no slouch on the climbs while utilizing SRAM's huge 10-52t cassette. SRAM Code brakes provide thick boots to get us under control on high-speed terrain. The build is capped off with wide 30mm internal rims that get dressed with downhill focused Maxxis rubber. Maxxis Assegai and Dominion tires get endless top marks for stickiness and grip and continue to be a favorite for those of us who live for the descents.
