Blizzard Skis > The original Zero G 95 is a hard act to follow. Literally thousands of experienced backcountry skiers have adopted it as their tool of choice beacause it features perhaps the best combination of light weight and confidence-inspiring performance in the lightweight touring segment. These same people have been waiting anxiously to see how this re-design of the Zero G compares. We needn't have worried - Blizzard has retained almost all of the grip and precision of the original version while slightly lessening the amount of Carbon Drive coverage and slightly shortening the length of the sidewalls. They've also increased the rocker a bit at the tip and beveled the top sheet edges more. These changes give the new Zero G 95 a slightly more forgiving personality both starting and finishing turns and provide a bit better soft snow performance without losing the character people loved in the original. Another bonus of the new design is that most skiers won't feel the need to de-tune the skis straight out of the wrapper, which was common before. Another winner for Blizzard, and we expect the new Zero G 95 to maintain it's place at the top of the backcountry heap this season. Rocker Camber Rocker Ski profile with rocker at the tip and tail, camber in the middle. Reducing the pressure on the edge at the tip and tail makes the ski even easier to handle and increases flotation on powder snow. The camber guarantees great grip on packed snow. Ultra-Lightweight Paulownia Woodcore Carbon Drive 2.0 The integration of a 3D uni-directional carbon fiber frame with an ultra-lightweight paulownia woodcore construction allows Blizzard to reduce the weight in the ski while providing structure for performance.
